E hāpai ana i ka poʻokela o Hawaiʻi...ʻo ʻOE!
Since 1971, the Aloha State Association of the Deaf (ASAD) has been Hawaiʻi's statewide advocacy organization serving Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people. As Hawaiʻi's state association affiliated with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), ASAD works with communities across the Hawaiian Islands to promote accessibility, equality, human rights, and opportunities for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people.
ASAD advocates at the local, state, and national levels for laws, policies, and programs that protect the rights and improve the lives of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people. We work with legislators, government agencies, and community partners to address issues affecting accessibility, communication, education, employment, and equal participation in our communities.
